Transfer Funds From A Visa/Mastercard Gift Card To Your Paypal Balance

If you have a Visa or Mastercard gift card, and would prefer to add that money to your PayPal balance, you can do so by requesting money from yourself. Paypal doesn't give you the option to do this within your account, but you can get around that by doing a transfer as a guest.

Steps:
- Login to PayPal.
- Use the "Request" button to make a money request from an email address. Type in an email address that you own, but isn't the same one you use for a PayPal account. For this type of request the receiver pays the fee so you can safely type the full card balance as the amount you're requesting (eg: $25, $50, $75, $100, etc).
- Login to your email, and open the request. You'll need to choose "Pay as a guest", and then enter your card details. Once the transfer completes (it should be nearly instantaneous) the money will be added to your PayPal balance, minus a small fee (eg: $25 CAD = $23.97 presently).

Notes:
- This is not to be confused with spending a gift card through PayPal. To do that you would register the card as a payment method. The result of this would be similar to spending money in a store, in that you have to make sure you're not trying to spend more than is on the card.
